The new focusing mechanism enables a correction for defective vision of at least 6 dpt. It also offers a built-in dioptre adjustment of +/- 4 dpt to compensate for different visual acuity in each eye. This enables the binoculars to be adjusted to individual levels of visual acuity when used without spectacles.

The SLC 42 HD stands out in comparison to other binoculars due to its larger exit pupil distance.
