Prime standard lens for APS-C sensor cameras
Weighing in at just 185g, this is a lens you can take wherever you go. On EOS DSLRs with APS-C sized sensors it makes a great standard lens, offering the same field of view as a 45mm lens on a full frame DSLR.
Fast maximum aperture and aspherical design
A large maximum aperture of f/2.8 allows hand-held, flash-free shooting even when light levels get low, and lets photographers control depth of field effectively. A high-precision aspherical lens element minimizes distortion and other aberrations, producing sharp images with high contrast.
Fully Electronic Lens Mount
An integrated AF motor provides fast autofocusing performance. The lens' electromagnetic diaphragm ensures incredibly accurate control over aperture positioning.
Super Spectra coating
Super Spectra coatings ensure accurate colour balance and enhance contrast. They also reduce flare and ghosting – a common problem caused by light bouncing off a camera's sensor.
